1%13 wallet

Here we go! The highest quality materials with the latest functions, ” a wallet, not a purse “, London / punk / rock’n’roll  ” 1%13 Wallet “, here we come!

、、、、、、 and before that, we’d like to tell you a story.

Before we get to this wallet and this belated liner, there is a personal story that I really want to tell you. In short, I was too personally involved in a different part of the project, which made the writing process very difficult. The root of all the evil that took a backseat is 、、、、、、、、、” tags ” !!!!

It’s an ordinary name tag. It’s that 5cm thing on the lapels of all kinds of clothing. It’s a convenient thing that can be hooked on from time to time. However, that simple name tag can turn into a very important icon that tells the story of the origin, sound culture, historical background, and even social conditions. It is a story of a “small piece of cloth with unlimited possibilities” that can become either an overlooked name or an exquisite golden sign!

I know that this is a story that those who are not interested in it will not understand at all, but I’ll give you the short version, so just listen to me. It is a historical fact that in the late 1970s, rock ‘n’ roll was heard in Harajuku, and a new statement was born in Japan’s youth culture, perhaps out of a longing for the “free, relaxed, and somehow cool” American culture that had been lingering in Japan since the postwar era. Simply put, this refers to the 50’s boom that began in the mid-1970s in Japan. It’s easy to see why, look at the photos of Harajuku’s hokoten. And what is one of the symbols reflected there?

Well, as you know, I was baptized into the rock ‘n’ roll culture as soon as I entered junior high school in the spring of 1981. Harajuku CREAM SODA and PEPPERMINT were the two most prominent examples. As an impressionable 13 year old, I was naturally shocked by both of them, and like many others of my generation, I was also shocked by 50’s culture and rock ‘n’ roll. I was 13 years old and was naturally shocked by both, and like many others of my generation, fell in love with 50’s culture and rock ‘n’ roll (and punk, of course). The iconic symbol of this was the cool, scary, skull-tag wallets that stuck out of the ass pockets of my seniors.

One of the strangest phenomena of my boyhood would come true in 2016.

London, punk, rock and roll. The “tags” that keep me guessing and drawn to the city are as follows. LET IT ROCK, SEX, SEDITIONARIES, JOHNSONS, LA ROCKA, ROBOT from the British Empire, ” CREAM SODA, PEPPERMINT, LON TEDDY, CAL COKE, HIGH HEELED, SHOUT!, CHOPPER etc etc etc…… From the Japanese hardcore area, the tags are SMASH, BLVCK, LA MOSCA, DEAD END etc. These were well-designed, impactful, and had a clear sense of the world condensed into a small tag tape!

Silly me, I was getting into the depths of obscene sounds and rock ‘n’ roll. At the same time, I continue to search for symbolic imagery. 、、、、、

I drew and erased and drew and erased, the vague image never reaching the extreme point, and instead I had to keep confronting my own shortcomings that kept bubbling up to the point of blindness. I continued to struggle with a mere five centimeters of fabric tape, even as various works came to fruition at the same time. Yes, rock ‘n’ roll always gives you a trial first. There is no such thing as a good story!

In 2015, I put an end to 30 years of wandering around with my image. I had been holding back on designing tags, but suddenly God came down to me. It was the ultimate minimalist expression of “typography only” instead of the graphics that I had been stuck with for so long! It was not a skull, a knife, a stun gun, or a missile! The design was completed in the blink of an eye, and I immediately contacted my partner BLACK BOOTS/Iwamae, who proceeded to weave tags from a professional perspective. !!!!

、、、、、、、、The tag filled with such blue thoughts and anguish was completed, and the first thing I wanted to put on it was that “wallet sticking out of my ass” that was imprinted on me as a boy! It is not a story common to all, not a gratifying story, not a cool story, but an impact that has existed since my boyhood, a ” tagged wallet ” that I wanted to make someday. It was a wallet with a tag that I wanted to make someday, a wallet with a tag that I wanted to make someday. It is not just a container to hold money, but a realm unknown to modern man and sacred to those who have lived through the history of the world. The tag that can be placed there is now complete. !!!!

This time-tested and crystallized tag, before being mounted on a wallet, publicly smelled its presence on the quilted jacket released in 2015 as a pre-start, and 1%13 officially presents the original tag here, in the first phase of 2016. And it will not be mounted on a flimsy cheap men’s wallet as before, but will be released in full force as a strong and completely new entity using super functional ideas and the finest materials. !!!!

1) First of all, what kind of leather is used?

The material used for the body of the 1%13 wallet was selected from Tochigi leather, the highest quality leather in Japan. It is a big shout out to Japan’s pride in Japanese culture and industry, based on London/punk/rock ‘n’ roll! The robust material produced by the master leather craftsman is the ideal type of leather, which is created by “human hands” while making full use of the latest technology. The thick, high quality feel of the domestically produced leather is unparalleled in quality. In other words, the ULTRA MODERN CLASSICS WALLET without gimmicks will continue to exist as a London/punk/rock ‘n’ roll until it is crushed. This time, the basic color “black” and another color “red” will be released. Each color will change over time, so we hope you will enjoy it.

For more details, please refer to the ULR below. You can see what kind of leather is used.

2) What is the newly developed “operability and convenience” for the theme of “wallets” this time?

There is a decisive difference between this wallet and ordinary wallets. It is the “action of taking out the wallet”. The new 1%13 wallet is a revolution in the use of wallets, with its design sublimated and its movement made as smooth as possible. In case of loss or theft, the wallet is equipped with metal fittings on both sides, and a wallet chain to prevent any problems before they occur.

3) The process of developing the new 1%13 wallet is as follows.

After using various trackers and biker wallets, 1%13 arrived at this position. It is absolutely against the existence of guns, but also obscene imaging in a phallic conception, EXCUTION! FEEL LUCKY PUNK! One shot, one button, “1%13 Original Long Wallet”. !!!!!

When I pull the wallet out of my ass and open it, I find myself placing a small amount of stress on the two buttons that hold it in place. The buttons are designed to hold the wallet in place so that it does not open and close, but when I tried using them, I found that opening and closing the dotted buttons was a bit of an extra step when opening the wallet. I had been using them as a matter of course to secure both sides of the purse, but when I thought about it more carefully, I realized that I could do without the top button. I had a thought like, “Why not have the top button? When it is in the pocket, there is no need to fix it there, is there? It is a point of view that “there is no need to fix the button on the wallet when it is in the pocket. Wallets without buttons also exist. I was wondering if the wallet would open when used in a tough environment. However, when the wallet is placed inside a back pocket, the “butt pressure” of the wallet closes it snugly, and there is no problem at all. And with time, the shape of the wallet will adjust and the wallet will close nicely. And, needless to say, it was much smoother and more convenient to open and close the wallet without the button. However, the buttonless wallet had a strong nuance of a billfold, and did not have the same “slam” sound and feel as the leather jacket that tickles men’s hearts. 、、、、、

The traditional two-button wallet with its firm closure and the refined unbuttoned wallet. The research continues, taking advantage of the characteristics of both, and aiming for the extreme point,

4) Until the position of the button is determined.

First, I angrily ripped off the top button of the sacrificial wallet I had on hand with a pair of pliers and placed the one-button wallet in my back pocket. “Just as I thought! “  The lap time between the moment I pulled it out and opened the wallet was definitely shortened. But my joy was short-lived, because just as I was about to open my wallet, “!!!? I didn’t miss the slightest bit of discomfort. The button position was different from that of the sample wallet! The sample wallet button is a dot button that is installed for “fixing” and not for “pulling it out of the pocket and opening it”, which means that this position is “Not the best position !!!!! “  It turns out that this is not the best position!

After I figured this out, I kept pulling my wallet out of my pocket over and over again, looking for the best point for the button. Rainy days, windy days, and even when the deadline for the liner had passed, 、、、、 I kept pocketing my wallet, pulling it out, and opening it whenever I had time. Finally, he found the best, most unloaded pole!

We then placed an “implant hook” on the inside of the wallet as a dot button that doesn’t come out to give the surface of the wallet a minimalistic and tight look. This opens up even more possibilities inside.

Having found the ultimate point, I was given a new challenge: the point to attach the “bone” that would serve as the puller. It had to be a position/mechanism that would work with the 1%13 Bone Key Holder, but could also be used with your own key ring or chain without any problems. After observing the proportions of the wallet, it was decided that a bone, key holder, or chain hanging on the right side would be natural and effective in terms of mobility. At the same time, for bikers, ton-up boys, and LA ROCKA lovers, we equipped the left side with a similar square can so that the chain can run over the pocket in an inverted arch from the outside to the right hip. In this case, the metal was placed in an exquisite position so that it would not stand out too much even when used as it is. The look of the wallet is a FETISH feel. The right side of the wallet is equipped with a round can to enhance its operability and design. This round can was originally manufactured for this wallet. The round can was originally manufactured for this wallet, and the seamless and rigid construction was elaborately made to leave rugged welding marks. Each piece has its own unique look. And by attaching action parts to both sides, it can be used in any wallet style, allowing left-handed people to enjoy the same pleasure.
5) Internal description.

The wallet itself is fixed in a vertical angle image, and the interior is designed with a strong rock ‘n’ roll feel, with six vertical card holders, with the main focus on the functional beauty of the design. On the left side of the door, a stick-on card holder is positioned as “the first place you see = the place to keep important cards”. The presence or absence of the card can be checked each time it is opened. The design of the card holder must be attention-grabbing and must serve as a backdrop for the signage. On the right side, there are four card cases, the result of an intense selection process. Below that, the old saying “Experience Must Be Bought” is transformed into a new experience for the wearer. This is a lucky wallet that will allow you to maximize your opportunities every time you open it. The address of the exhibition site “1PER13.JP” is engraved on the lower right corner of the wallet. You can access 1%13 from any terminal at any time without forgetting. You will be able to get more opportunities and information.

The right card case has two long slits underneath for storing receipts and papers in addition to bills, while the left case is designed to hold bills as well. Of course, it can be used in any way, right-handed or left-handed.

The coin case has an original leather puller. The small, stiff zipper pulls are not a problem for this wallet, as they are often found on bulky wallets, and they are not easy to open and close. You can feel the function of the bold leather puller when you grip it and pull it. The leather pulls are also originally designed and manufactured, and are engraved with an original font.

6) Operation Method

The user should hold the 1%13 bone in a gunman’s stance (or 007) and attach the 1%13 bone to the wallet in the right buttock to get ready. (If not available, a key ring or chain of a size you can hold)
1) Pull the bone from the wallet.
2) Turn it halfway around and receive it with the left hand
3) As soon as you receive it, your thumb naturally enters because the top part is button-less.
4) With one action, the wallet opens.
5) Pull the slider (when using coins)

The action is as follows.
