■■Chuckers Profile■
Formed in 2015 by a group of talented musicians from the Shonan area. Although they are credited anonymously like the Timers, they are a super band of nine members, each with a career and ability in their own right. As you can guess from the title, the band’s content is quite illicit, but the soundscape produced under the leadership of vocalist Tongoro Ichihi is a superb smoky sound full of adult sensations extracted from reggae, funk, city pop, and other genres through a Shonan filter.
The catchy songs are unforgettable once you listen to them, and many people have been captivated by them!
Their first album “Japan Liberation Frontline” released in the summer of 2016 has been a hot topic in the underground scene nationwide, and a year later in the summer of 2005, they performed at “FUJI-ROCK”, the first time for a band belonging to this label. In the summer of “17,” the band became the first band from the label to perform at “Fuji Rock.
In the following year, 2006, they released their 2nd album “Japan Green Earth Project”, as well as “Babylon Panic” and “Koufu & Green Massive”. In addition to the second album “Japan Green MASSIVE”, “BABYLON PANIC” and “KOUFU & GREEN MASSIVE” were released in succession.
In the following year, he released “Dubchuckers”, a box set of 7 7inch EPs by 7 remixers at the time of his one-man performance at Ebisu LIQUID ROOM in 1919, and sold out immediately.
The production of the third album started in 2008, but the schedule was postponed due to the members’ poor health, various problems with member changes, and the effects of the Corona disaster. The contents need no explanation at this point.
