This item is made of 100% wool knit, which is compressed to make a shrunken knit. Originally, wool-blended fabrics are not washable because wool gets entangled when washed, but we dare to wash them at the processing stage to make the wool entangle with each other, thus making the fabric felted and enhancing its heat-retaining properties. Similar processing is also used for woven fabrics, but in the case of knit fabrics, elasticity remains after compression due to the characteristics of the fabric, and the fabric can be made lighter than woven fabrics.
