“SLAPPY” is a combination of canvas and suede shoes with a very simple design at first glance, but with full-fledged skate shoe functionality. The low-cut shoe has a deep cut for a wider range of ankle motion, and the vulcanized sole structure allows you to feel the board more in your toes and soles. The shock-absorbing high-density urethane insole is adopted for durability and high shock absorption. The upper side has a two-layer structure, and the first layer of canvas is scraped off to reveal the second layer of suede, which is reputed to give the shoes a longer life.

In the late 1980s, the brand director encountered skateboarding as an extension of the hardcore punk he was listening to at the time.
While obsessed with skateboarding, he formed the hardcore punk band THE SCUMBAG at the end of the 1980s, and the band was active for two years. In the mid 90’s, he started making skateboarding videos as a part of OPIOID VIDEO series with the riders of T-19, a skateboard brand in Tokyo, and by 2001, he had made 5 videos. By 2001, he had produced 5 videos. In the late 90’s, he launched the skate apparel brand RGOA with ESOW, and in 2000, he launched TRANSMIT, a domestic skate shoe brand developed in collaboration with PRO-KEDS. By 2001, TRANSMIT had released skate shoes including pro-signature series by ESOW, ZIZOW, and KIKS, but TRANSMIT was closed in 2002, and RGOA was closed in 2007. After that, he experienced full-scale industrial production of apparel and other products.
He launched POSSESSED in 2016, utilizing his experience designing shoes at TRANSMIT. He still rides skateboards and always tests products himself. Currently, he writes a column “Skateboarding: A New Look at the Past and Future” for VHS MAG, a skateboard web media.

CONCEPT
A shoe brand with a simple design that is durable and functional enough to withstand serious skateboarding.

OUTSOLE and INSOLE
Gum sole is used for the outsole. The herringbone pattern provides high grip and flexibility.
The insole uses a high-density urethane foam material with high shock absorption. The heel portion from the toe to the foot has a honeycomb structure for enhanced durability and wicking properties. The toe portion is 5mm thick and the heel portion is 10mm thick for improved shock absorption and control.

Doble layered pad
The toe portion, which is subject to wear and tear due to ollies, is double-layered for improved durability. A second layer of highly durable synthetic leather is created under the surface of the main body, and even if the surface material is scraped off, the second layer of synthetic leather prevents holes from opening in the main body of the shoe.

SOLID MATERIAL
Cotton canvas and suede leather are used for the upper portion. The cotton canvas material is denser and hotter than the same material normally used for sneakers, which improves durability.
